How does Spray Tanning and Exfoliating work?
Spray tanning solution adheres to the epidermis (whichever strength of solution is used). The goal of achieving a longer lasting tan is to iliminate as much of the dead or dying cells as one can. If one did not do this, the tanning solution would attach to just the dead cells and fall off during our normal day-time activities resulting in a short-lived tan. Not what we wish to achieve!
There are several ways to exfoliate. The conventional way is:
- Before you shower or bathe, squeeze small amount of body scrub into the palm of your hand. Apply the scrub to your skin and massage in a circular motion around your body using a pumice stone or exfoliating mit (recommended)
- Start exfoliating from your ankles upwards to your calves and thighs and so on. Pay special attention to your ankles and knees. On your upper body, once again, pay attention to your elbows and any dry patches you may have which will need thorough exfoliatiation.
- Shower and Rinse your body of the scrub.
- On the day of your spray tan shower, but DO NOT exfoliate or moisturize. Exfoliation should be done the day before.
Your body should feel invigorated and glowing.
Part of your Holistic Spray tan session consists of us applying a unique and very special exfoliating solution spray all over your body. It is called EXFOLIESE. This will shed some of the dead cells you may have missed during your own exfoliating process. You may also purchase your own bottle of Exfoliese from us.
Exfoliese removes body oils, impurities and surface dead skin cells. It is a professional product containing organic Aloe Vera and Fruit Acids which help to prepare the skin for an even tanning application.
Without using Exfoliese, your tan may not last as long as it could. |
