Exfoliating - The Mechanical method |
| |

MECHANICAL exfoliants are those that use a more abrasive form of exfoliation for your skin. Any scrub that contains little abrasive particles (such as volcanic rock particles, salt, beads and so forth) can be considered Mechanical as opposed to chemical or even natural enzymes.
Mechanical scrubs should not used used on the face as they can be harsh and unforgiving. People with dry or aging skin may benefit from this mechanical form of exfoliation. People with sensitive skin should totally avoid this method.
DO's and DON'Ts
- DO start off carefully and gently.
- DO stop if your skin becomes too red or even bleeding.
- DO use a mitt or loofah.
- DO read the label and ingredients on the exfoliantt bottle/jar or pack. Select the appropriate exfoliant for your skin type.
- DO NOT be too vigorous in your exfoliating. Your skin will benefit from exfoliation, but not being over excessive!
- DO NOT use mechanical exfoliants on your face.
